Tesla Q3 deliveries up 70% from Q2 to 24,500 vehicles

Tesla delivered approximately 24,500 vehicles in Q3, of which 15,800 were Model S (64%) and 8,700 were Model X (36%). This was an increase of just over 70% from last quarter’s deliveries of 14,402. Tesla only counts a car as delivered if it is transferred to the customer and all paperwork is correct; about 5,500 vehicles were in transit to customers at the end of the quarter.

Nissan emergency truck concept: electric-car battery for rescue power

Audi opens €1B San José Chiapa plant in Mexico; 1st on N.A. continent; Smart Factory

Audi is further expanding its worldwide production network with the opening of the company’s first automobile plant on the North American continent. This will be the first time the company has produced a model for the global market at a location outside of the European continent. Audi will produce the new generation of the Audi Q5 for the world market in San José Chiapa in Mexico’s federal state of Puebla.

Navistar SuperTruck demo vehicle CatalIST exceeds DOE freight efficiency goal; 50.3% BTE, path to 55%

Navistar unveiled its innovative SuperTruck demonstration vehicle, CatalIST, which has achieved a freight efficiency improvement of 104% compared to the control vehicle, exceeding the improvement goal set by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for the SuperTruck program. In addition, the Navistar vehicle has achieved fuel efficiency of 13 miles per gallon, and demonstrated 50.3% Brake Thermal Efficiency (BTE) and a path towards 55% BTE.
