The Nissan Micra has been updated for 2021, with the popular Fiesta rival getting a more efficient engine, refreshed trim levels and minor tweaks.

Here’s what you need to know.

While not much has changed on the outside, a closer look at the trim levels reveal that the higher grade N-Sport and Tekna grades now feature LED headlights as standard.

The latter, meanwhile, gains 17in diamond cut alloy wheels which Nissan says gives the Micra a more elegant and athletic appearance.

The trim levels themselves have been refined to give customers a better choice. Entry-level Visia model gets hill start assist as standard, while the mid-range Acenta gets Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Siri voice recognition as standard.

The N-Sport is a new addition to the Micra range, and gets notable exterior details that mark it out. It gets gloss black trim and mirror caps, 17in alloy wheels and front fog lights.

Inside, you’ll find upholstery with Alcantara inserts and a matching dashboard, while the seats have been ergonomically adjusted to offer superior support and reduce driver fatigue over longer distances.

The Tekna is the most advanced Micra and features Nissan’s Intelligent Around View Monitor camera system. This helps drivers navigate difficult parking scenarios safely and is available with moving object detection and blind spot warning too.

The Tekna also boasts a Bose stereo system that features speakers built into the driver’s headrest to offer a better sound experience. The NissanConnect infotainment system with TomTom navigation is available as an option on Acenta and N-Sport models but is standard on the Tekna.

An enhanced 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine is available across the range, offering an improvement both dynamically and efficiently. The diesel, meanwhile, has been dropped from the Micra line-up completely.

Available to order from November, the range starts with list prices from £13,995. If you fancy leasing a Micra, you can compare Micra leasing deals here.
