2010 Prius designed to be manufactured with NiMH or Lithium batteries. GMs program relies on lithium-ion battery technology that Gioia called "cost, weight and package prohibitive." By the end of this year, we will begin testing the lithium-ion batteries developed in prototypes of the Vue Green Line plug-in hybrid.
