Chevrolet dealers in all 50 states in the US are now taking orders for the 2012 Chevrolet Volt. The suggested retail price for the Volt will start at $39,995 (or $32,495 assuming a full federal tax credit of $7,500, which is subject to the customer’s eligibility). Five-year/100,000-mile* roadside assistance and courtesy transportation.

The District of Columbia has a tax credit of 50% of the incremental cost of an EV, up to $19,000. The District also exempts EVs from its excise tax, which varies from 6% to 8% depending on vehicle weight. ZEVs include vehicles powered by electricity or hydrogen fuel cells.
