In an effort to create discussions between research institutes; industry; and public authorities; a new conference has been established for electrified vehicles. Known as the European Electric Vehicle Congress, the event will take place from October 26-28, 2011, in Brussels.

In a news conference at the Japan National Press Club on Friday, Toyota Motor President Akio Toyoda said that the company plans to begin mass production of electric vehicles in the US in 2012, followed by US production of fuel cell vehicles in 2015.
