Which new electric car is generating comparisons to the hated HUMMER?

And, what eagerly awaited new green car has had dribs and drabs of information trickling out for weeks now?

This is our video look back at the Week In Reverse--right here at Green Car Reports--for the week ending on Friday, October 16, 2015.

Friday, we boiled down Tesla's announcement that it was launching its Autopilot self-driving software to the 60,000 Model S cars that were built with the necessary sensors and wiring.

CEO Elon Musk's Wednesday afternoon conference call lasted less than an hour, but it had a lot of information packed into it.

We broke it down into the 10 most important things we think people should know about the Tesla Autopilot system.

On Thursday--and Wednesday too, for that matter--we covered a bit more of the information that has trickled out about the 2016 Toyota Prius.

We got power outputs and dimensions on Thursday, and some model and trim details the day before--following details on the engine and hybrid system on Monday.

We'll actually get to drive the car itself in a few weeks.

We also learned Wednesday that there will be a new Volkswagen Phaeton luxury sedan, and it'll have an all-electric powertrain. It's likely coming around 2018.

That new car was actually part of Tuesday's announcement by the Volkswagen board of directors that it would focus more on electric cars and plug-in hybrid vehicles as it attempts to recover from the expanding diesel emission scandal.

We kicked off the week on Monday with news that France would expand its bonus for buying a new electric car to cover scrapping any diesel car from before 2005.

Those are by far the dirtiest of all European diesel cars; they emit visible soot as well as high amounts of nitrogen oxides and other harmful gases. The smell of their exhaust is characteristic of any French city.

Over the weekend, we noted the irony that the Tesla Model X all-electric sport utility vehicle qualifies for the same small-business vehicle tax incentive that used to be called the "HUMMER tax break."

What goes around, comes?

Until next week, this has been the Green Car Reports Week in Reverse update.
