This started with a leased Fiat 500e used as my wife’s commuter car (she’s a registered nurse with a 10-mile commute each way). Not too shabby considering this includes some of the more expensive DC Fast Chargers from a trip to Pismo Beach last year. Charging places are proliferating in California–and elsewhere.

Porsche 914 EV Conversion

I'm not entirely sure why, but ElectroAuto shipped #2 gauge cable with the AC kit instead of the standard 2/0 gauge cable that came with the earlier 914 DC kit. It's acceleration at zero RPM was less than half the original ICE engine and half of that (at zero RPM) of the Advanced DC 9" motor in the 914 DC kit.

I bought an Advanced DC X91-4001. " motor that is typically used in smaller cars. I am building a commuter car for a city with 45MPH speed limits. After much back and forth, I have picked one. This is a 6.7" I am not building a dragster.
