Fuel cell cars should be plug-in hybrids so that the fuel cell is used only for extended range, and the fuel cell stack and hydrogen storage can be smaller. DaimlerChrysler is using them in some of its prototype PHEV Sprinter commercial vans. We expect that EVs will return to the market after PHEVs are commercialized.
