Tata Motors has launched its all-new Tigor EV

After the great launch of electric two-wheelers in India now it is the turn of electric four-wheelers that is from the homegrown automobile manufacturer Tata Motors. The new Tigor EV comes with a Tata Motors Ziptron powertrain which comes with liquid-cooled power electronics for extracting the maximum possible onboard power. It is the second electric vehicle from the company with the Ziptron technology. The new Tata Tigor EV is currently available for pre-bookings and the sales will commence on August 31. Tata Motors said that it shares 70 per cent of the share in the electric market. The company said that it has sold around 8,500 plus electric vehicles and out of which 6000 plus units are of the Nexon EV. The Nexon EV customers have collectively driven more than 35 million kilometres to date. Which has helped to save over 35-kilo tons on CO2 emissions, which is equivalent to planting half a million trees.

The new Tata Tigor EV gets safety features in the form of hill ascent, hill descent control, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, CSC or Cornering Stability Control. It is offering 8 years of warranty on the battery pack and the motor which are IP67 rated and it comes with an impact-resistant battery pack casing. 

Features & specifications 

Its other key features include a 7-inch touchscreen, silent in-cabin experience, fully automatic temperature control, smart key, tyre puncture kit, boot space, spacious interiors,  height adjustable seat, portable charging cable, 30+ connected car features which includes remote commands and remote diagnostics, etc. 

If we look at its technical specifications, its motor peak power is 55kw and produces a torque of 170 Nm. It is equipped with a 26 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and can do a sprint from 0 to 60 kmph in 5.7 seconds.

Charging

The new Tata Tigor EV can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in an hour with the help of a fast charger and with a regular charger it will take 8.5 hours or it can also be charged with a 15A socket available at homes and offices.
