The California Air Resources Board (CARB) staff will host a public workshop on 11 February to discuss ideas and strategies to reduce in-use emissions from heavy-duty diesel vehicles operating in the State of California. The workshop will be held at the Cal/EPA Headquarters Building in. Sacramento, California.

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) will host a public workshop to discuss regulatory concepts to reduce NO x emissions from new on-road heavy-duty vehicles greater than 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight rating. The workshop will be available via webcast for those unable to attend in person.

This workshop is the follow-up to the Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Ports Workshop 2016, held in Port of Los Angeles. At this year’s workshop, there will be updates from last year with presentations from ports authorities, terminal operators, trucking companies, hydrogen and fuel cell technology providers, and State funding agencies.

In August, the California Energy Commission (CEC) will hold two public workshops related to the use of hydrogen as a transportation fuel: one on infrastructure, the other on measurement and dispensing. On 12 August, CEC staff will host a public workshop on California’s hydrogen fuel infrastructure.

California Governor Gavin Newsom this week signed Assembly Bill 1657 , which will create a Blue Ribbon Commission on Lithium Extraction in California. The commission will comprise 14 members appointed by a combination of the California Energy Commission, other state agencies, Assembly Speaker, and Senate Committee on Rules.

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) is developing a measure to reduce emissions from Transport Refrigeration Units (TRUs) by transitioning to zero-emission technologies. At the upcoming workshop, ARB staff will discuss preliminary concepts developed since the first workshop in April 2016. NO x : 6,100 tons per year.
