Most have no idea. That’s certainly the case here in Torrance, California where I live and work. We’ve now got some Mo going with: California solar loan financing that will eliminate the big up front cost of solar. It’s a slam dunk. But they’re not a slam dunk in today’s economy.

I love the idea of powering my car from solar power. Unless/until PV cells become more efficient, and are part of the original installation, they will seriously affect the cars aerodynamics and will be far less durable than metal. How about putting PV cells on the roof of a PHEV? Are the batteries recyclable? What about battery safety?
