As required by the loan agreements signed in December 2008, GM and Chrysler submitted their updated restructuring plans showing a pathway to achieve financial viability to Congress on Tuesday. Saturn will remain in operation for the next several years, through the end of the planned lifecycle for all Saturn products.

They only have that many models because they use the same chassis and drivetrain to build 3 different cars, one branded as a Chevy, the next a Pontiac, then a Saturn, etc. Additionally, I had a close frind out in California that just about creamed in his pants when he was able to lease one. And its the law here in the US.
