The gamble is that Nissan could grab the EV market and dominate it until BYD (China) enters the U.S., will sell a plug-in Toyota Prius after 2010, taking on the Chevrolet Volt, which goes on sale in November 2010. The benefits overwhelm the perceived problem of range.
