The BYD battery technology also allows for a full charge in less than 5 hours. Buquebus and CTS Auto S.A., The bus can be charged overnight, while the electricity pricing is lower.

Technology group Wärtsilä will power the biggest battery electric ship yet built with its battery-electric propulsion system and waterjets. The uniquely designed vessel will be fully battery powered, with e-motor driven Wärtsilä waterjets as the main propulsors. The vessel will operate between Argentina and Uruguay.

Volvo Trucks is continuing to enter new markets with its battery electric trucks. The company has now delivered its first heavy-duty electric trucks to Latin America, with the vehicles going to customers in Brazil, Chile and Uruguay. By that, Volvo has delivered electric trucks to customers on six continents and in 45 countries.

BYD won an order to deliver another 406 battery-electric buses to the Colombian capital of Bogotá, coming shortly after a previous announcement on 17 December of the delivery of the 470 pure electric buses to the city.
