(PAG) has terminated its discussions with General Motors Company to acquire the Saturn brand, citing concerns directly related to the future supply of vehicles beyond the supply period it had negotiated with GM. Today’s disappointing news comes at a time when we’d hoped for a successful launch of the Saturn brand into a new chapter.

General Motors confirmed Tuesday morning that its Spring Hill, Tennessee, plant, which once served as the launch point for Saturn, will build the upcoming Cadillac Lyriq electric SUV starting late next year. However, according to The Verge , the same opportunity will not be available to Chevy dealerships. This is yet another reminder that GM can be a dysfunctional family of brands, to say the least (look at Saturn). This has made many curious; what is GM’s plan for their dealership network?

It's a 2002 Saturn SL1 with 220,000 miles and a rough engine, however it still runs. In the end I went with what was available and what I could afford. I have bought my donor car. The price was $900 which was OK I think? I have been looking for ages on Craigslist for the right car and toyed with all sort of cars.

Saturn will remain in operation for the next several years, through the end of the planned lifecycle for all Saturn products. In the interim, if Saturn retailers or other investors present a plan that would allow a spin-off or sale of Saturn Distribution Corporation, GM would be open to any such possibility.

The first, a Saturn Vue called the eMOOve, will be a series hybrid, to be completed in 2012. As the engines become available, the undergraduates in the Hybrid Vehicle Team will integrate them into functioning hybrid vehicles. But we do have diesel fuel and we usually have ethanol that’s fairly readily available.
