A study by researchers at Iowa State University has determined that the automotive industry has a very large potential to utilize biobased materials. However, they noted, there are also many challenges associated with the use of biobased parts in the auto industry. Cost to manufacture is one of the main considerations.

More knowledgeable shoppers may even be able to name some upcoming EVs from GM: the Chevrolet Silverado EV pickup , the Cadillac Lyriq luxury SUV, or the EV versions of Chevy’s Equinox and Blazer compact crossover utilities. It lets Chevy focus on passenger vehicles and SUVs, along with fleet sales for its pickups.

Plans Saturn Vue PHEV-10. Aims to get Saturn Vue on road in 2010; no production goal. Furia explained, "The SUVs that we just completed that were outfitted with the XHT drive train could have been any SUV made by anyone. They only have that many models because they use the same chassis and drivetrain to build 3 different cars, one branded as a Chevy, the next a Pontiac, then a Saturn, etc. So my Saturn SC1 does the job great I am getting 35-38 miles on the Hwy and with over 232,000 miles and runs like a champ. The first VCRs were well over a $1000.00
