The MiEV runs on a lithium-ion battery pack that can be charged in seven or so hours on a 240-volt line. Today we could be using lead-acid EVs, lead-carbon-acid EVs, or nickel metal hydride or lithium-ion hybrids. Lastly, hybrids & plug-in hybrids are an unfortunate diversion.

It also offers eight hybrid models. One wonders if the recent headway at MIT in building lithium ion cells using ?virus? Volt like hybrids are the intermediate future between hydrogen or fast charging electric cars. Thats short-sighted. GM is developing more fuel-efficient vehicles. Thats more than any other automaker.
