Audi is introducing the vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) service “Traffic Light Information” in Europe. From July, Audi will network new models with the traffic lights in Ingolstadt/Germany; further European cities will follow from 2020 onwards. In the US, Audi customers have been using this service since late 2016.

Other project partners include PNNL; technology providers Petron Scientech, CRI Catalyst Company, Nexceris and Gardner Denver Nash; Michigan Technological University, who will be evaluating the environmental footprint of the fuels being produced; and Audi, who will support by evaluating diesel and gasoline fuel properties.

It may have reportedly canceled its two smallest plug-in car projects, but Audi is hardly abandoning electric cars. Three months ago, the German luxury and sports brand said it would bring a limited test fleet of battery-electric Audi A3 hatchbacks to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Denver.

Finally, the Audi 80 -based Dasher showed up here as a 1974 model, but it wasn't until the following model year that the first true water-cooled VW went on sale in North America. The closest I'd come was a '77 two-door in Denver , but then I hit pay dirt in a Northern California yard last week.

Audi introduced the battery-electric Audi A3 e-tron US pilot program at TED2012 in Long Beach, California. This marks Audi’s first foray into the rapidly developing US electric vehicle landscape. The Audi A3 e-tron can be recharged in about nine hours with a 230-volt household socket. A3 e-tron BEV.
