Riversimple Rasa
Late this week, we brought you some new technical details for the ultra-lightweight Riversimple Rasa, a carbon-fiber two-seater with a hydrogen fuel-cell powertrain.
Although its underpinnings remind us a bit of the ultra-exotic Volkswagen XL1 hypercar, Riversimple plans not to sell this car but to offer it by subscription, for a price that's similar to the ownership costs for a "new family-sized hatchback."
Aston Martin RapidE concept
Thursday we reported about how Aston Martin, the luxury touring and sports-car maker, plans to partner with LeEco, the Chinese company perhaps best known as "the Netflix of China," to help develop the production version of its RapidE Concept—an anticipated rival to the Tesla Model S, as well as what becomes of the Porsche Mission E Concept.
Mid-week, we gave you an update on the tally for public health damage due to Volkswagen's emissions "defeat device" on some of its diesel vehicles. Also, we had a feeling a lot of you would be geeking out over glimpses of vehicle service screens—and we were right.
2016 Tesla Model S
Tesla's Summon function is, like its Autopilot feature for highway driving, still in the beta-testing stage. But it recently agreed to place a few more limitations on that function, and we brought you details of that earlier in the week.
