A few days back we posted a story about Honda and their decision to bring a hybrid model to the Acura lineup of vehicles.  The release of information about an Acura hybrid came directly from Honda CEO Takanobu Ito as he spoke at the NAIAS.  At the time, it was unclear as to what Acura product would be chosen as the first to receive hybrid power, but now a new reports suggests that the company has selected a winner.

According to the Automotive News, Acura has chosen to put the hybrid powertrain into the company's entry level TSX first.  Automotive News cites an unnamed source, who they say is an Acura dealer.  The information has not been confirmed, but the TSX seems a likely candidate as it has many similarities to Honda branded products that already have hybrid power.

Executive Vice President of Sales for Honda North America John Mendel has guaranteed that there will be more hybrids from Acura soon as the company is expected to bring several hybrids to market in the near future.

Acura spokesman Gary Robinson has put aside any doubt about Acura's future hybrid products.  Robinson said that all hybrids coming from the company will meet the automakers demand for performance and luxury that buyers expect from an Acura product.
