At the Zwickau vehicle plant, Volkswagen commissioned the first fast-charging park in Saxony supplied with energy largely from a power storage container (PSC). The PSC is an electricity storage unit and consists of 96 cell modules with a net capacity of 570 kWh. 4 and have now been given a second purpose.

The first Solaris buses entered The Netherlands in 2017 when the operator Connexxion purchased 40 articulated Solaris Urbino 18. The BMW Battery Storage Farm at the Leipzig plant, which has been on-stream since October 2017, with up to 700 BMW i3 batteries, is also part of the BMW power pool. Think of our electrified vehicles as mobile power storage units. In total, the plant manufactured more than 376,000 cars in 2017.
