Unlike the Prius Prime, the Ford C-Max Energi has been around for several model years. It received a very minor update for 2017.

Ford is offering noteworthy deals on remaining 2016 models that, like those for the Prius Prime, run through January 3.

The best lease offer for the C-Max Energi is $199 a month for 36 months.

That includes a $1,999 down payment and an annual allowance of 10,500 miles.

For those looking to buy, Ford is also offering 0-percent APR financing for 72 months, with up to $6,000 cash back.

General Motors is hitting the ground running with incentives for the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV 238-mile electric car.

The Bolt EV is only just now arriving at dealerships in select markets, but GM already has some deals prepared.

Where it is available, consumers can lease the Bolt EV for $359 a month for 36 months.

That offer—which applies through January 3—includes a $1,099 down payment, and a fairly high annual cap of 15,000 miles.

While the Bolt EV will eventually be sold nationwide, the 2017 Fiat 500e remains a "compliance car" available only in California and Oregon.

In those states, it is available to lease at $149 a month for 36 months, an offer that runs through January 3.

That includes $1,999 due at signing and 12,000 miles per year.

A $1,000 "conquest bonus" is also available for shoppers currently leasing competitor vehicles.

2017 Hyundai Elantra

Fuel-efficient gasoline cars

The 2017 Hyundai Elantra compact sedan is worth a look this month, thanks to a Black Friday promotion Hyundai elected to extend until January 3.

That promotion lops $2,500 off the price of all versions of the Elantra.

Hyundai is also offering an additional $750 bonus for buyers that finance at non-promotional rates, bringing the total amount of possible discounts to $3,250.

Finally, significant discounts on the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 sedan carry over from last month.

Mitsubishi is offering $2,000 cash back on the Mirage G4 through January 3.

The G4 was introduced alongside an updated version of the Mirage 5-door hatchback earlier this year, adding a second body style for what has been an unexpected sales success for Mitsubishi.
