General Motors and its joint ventures sold a record 3,539,970 vehicles in China in 2014, an average of one vehicle every 9 seconds and almost 9,700 vehicles each day. It also opened its new manufacturing base in Chongqing and signed an agreement for the second phase of production at the facility. GM’s sales were up 12.0%

General Motors and its joint ventures sold their 1 millionth vehicle in China in 2014. As a point of comparison, GM’s four brands in the US (Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac) have delivered 649,637 vehicles during the first three months of 2014. Last year, GM hit a million on April 22.

The Group is considering various ways to procure renewable energy such as self-production through solar panels, power purchase agreements (PPA) with wind and solar energy producers, as well as purchase through Korea Electric Power Corporation’s (KEPCO) ‘Green Premium’ program. General Motors and the BMW Group are also RE100 members.
