Since 2013 Audi has been operating a pilot plant ( earlier post ) in which renewable wind power is used to produce hydrogen by electrolysis. The high-voltage lithium-ion battery is mounted close to the trunk and rear suspension. In these phases, the lithium-ion battery jumps into action and supplies energy to the electric motor.
