Hi all, I am beginning an EV conversion with a mini cooper from the early 2000s (I'm still trying to choose which year I want but I know it's going to be a model from 2002 - 2010) and I'm trying to make my first purchase for either one or two potentiometers.

Bought most of the bits for the conversion in December 2010. They shipped in and I took delivery in May 2011. July 2012: Embarrassing mess. Wasted $$ in battery connectors made of tinned steel and copper mesh. Good lesson: make sure I post online any questions at least a week before I have to make a decision. www.evworks.com.au/.

Success!!! The Ban on EV Conversions in Ontario, Canada is Over!!!

Yesterday (June 7, 2010), Electric Mobility Canada sent out an e-mail advising its Ontario members that MTO has lifted the ban, and has implemented an interim solution for the licensing of electric vehicle conversions. If you are doing a conversion, you have until June 30, 2010 to qualify for the retail sales tax rebate. 2010.06.08.

Over the holidays (11-2010) I painstakingly placed and wired the 20 Crown battery # GC 225?s Well, Well, Well. After about two years, and many excuses, I think I might have finally finished the project. s in the truck. These are 68 lb lead acid batteries @ $109 each (I lucked out with no core charge and free delivery), you do the math.

Update 11-07-2010. The gauges were a lot of work but worth it! My original idea was just to mount the amp meter, voltmeter, ect on top of the dashboard. But at the behest of a friend I DID take the dashboard apart to get at the instrument cluster, it wasn?t
