Ford Motor Company’s first-half total US sales grew 5% with 1,353,048 vehicles sold—its best first-half performance since 2006. Escape sales were up 20%, driven by the new 2017 model. Overall, Ford’s monthly van sales grew 14%—the company’s best commercial van sales since 1978—with 24,404 sold.

HEV - The current generation of production Hybrids are 100% gas fueled vehicles with a few EV tricks like Regen Braking and no wasteful Idling. Were a group of entrepreneurs, engineers, environmentalists and consumers promoting high-efficiency, low-emission cars and harnessing buyer demand to help commercialize plug-in hybrids.

In late 2008, BYD started selling the first production PHEV in China. This is from "Commercializing Plug-In Hybrids" (pdf), the current CalCars 24-slide presentation about PHEVs available along with other documents at CalCars Downloads. 1,000 pre-orders for small production runs in 2009 and 2010starting 4th quarter 2009.
