Remembering Former IEEE President Ken Laker

In addition to sharing his time and talents with IEEE, he was a professor of electrical engineering for 35 years at the University of Pennsylvania , in Philadelphia. Laker joined the University of Pennsylvania in 1984 as an EE professor. He left in 1977 to join Bell Labs , in Holmdel, N.J., as a member of the technical staff.

US PIRG report finds reduced driving and rates of car commuting in most populous US urbanized areas

After graduating in 1945 from Lake Ariel Consolidated School, in Pennsylvania, he enlisted in the U.S. He retired in 1998 and was named professor emeritus. He held two U.S. Leland Ross Megargel.
