Global asset manager The Carlyle Group L.P. and Sunoco, Inc. have agreed to form Philadelphia Energy Solutions, a joint venture that will enable the historic Philadelphia refinery to continue operating. Volkswagen is introducing the gasoline-fueled Polo Blue GT with active cylinder management (ACT)—the first Volkswagen with a cylinder deactivation system, and the first commercial application from an OEM of such a system in a four-cylinder engine.
